Well Morris and I survived the Great British Beer Festival at Olympia, London.  What a fantastic week we had.  It was hard work and we were exhausted from working a 14 hour day Monday to Saturday, but it was worth it.  If you fancy joining us next year please do – I can’t recommend it highly enough if you like meeting people and having fun; and then there’s the Volunteers’ Arms too!  Or you could just visit for the day and enjoy a couple of the hundreds of beers available.  Over 200,000 pints were sold Tuesday to Saturday this year.  Our Branch breweries were really well represented this year – Clearwater, Countrylife, Forge and Holsworthy Ales were all there.  Needless to say I felt extremely proud! Morris and I were also invited to judge the Champion Beer Of Britain.  What a privilege. Don’t forget to look at our What’s On which lists lots and lots of activities.  No need to feel the summer is slipping by. Our next branch meeting is on

Saturday 19th September at 12.30 at The Conservative Club, Bideford

You will find minutes of previous meetings here If you have anything you wish to be discussed at the meeting please let me know and I will pass it on to our Branch Secretary for inclusion on the agenda. I am now starting my next round of nagging/requesting/inviting……nominations are required from all members for 2016 for the following: Good Beer Guide entries……..Brewery Of The Year…….Club Of The Year…….Cider Pub Of The Year If you would like to make a nomination for any of these then it is as easy as clicking ‘reply’ and letting me know which pub/club/brewery and which category. Simples! The next issue of Beer Tiz will be out soon, look out for it in your local.  Let me know if it doesn’t appear and I will ensure a delivery. Finally I need volunteers! I need help on the bar at RHS Rosemoor Beer Festival – 25th – 27th September Friday noon till 5pm, Saturday noon till 8pm, Sunday noon till 5pm No experience necessary – you will be supported by experienced CamRA branch members, it never gets too busy and it is a token bar so no money to sort out!  Just lots of fun to be had, lovely beers and ciders to try and lovely people to talk to about our favourite things – beer and CamRA!  Please let me know if you can help for any of the festival (hours are very negotiable and entry is free).  I look forward to hearing from you – first come first served so let me know asap please. Last but not least, I will have Good Beer Guide 2016 for sale at our Branch meeting and at Rosemoor.  Discounted for members of course! Cheers, I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you soon
