Hello and Merry Christmas I make no apologies for saying Merry Christmas, I think it is the most wonderful time of year. I am still recovering from our Branch Festive lunch. It was the biggest and best! Great venue, great food, great company and a visit from Santa Claus!! We have a great deal to celebrate too, not least the recent campaigning success in Parliament which resulted in a market rent only option for licensee tenants. Never underestimate the power of CamRA as a campaigning body. Stuck for a last minute gift idea? Check out the CamRA website, lots of ideas big and small; and remember that membership rates go up in January so now is a good time for gift membership! Our next branch meeting is on Saturday 10th January, 12.30 at The Town Arms, South Molton EX36 3BU. We will be choosing our *Branch Brewery of The Year* so your vote will really count, I do hope you will be able to attend. In the meantime there are lots of fun things to do including a charity beer festival at our Pub Of The Year, The Red Lion at Exbourne. Check out their website for details of the programme of entertainment and the beers available. I hope to see you there. Please see attached Information Update for other events and if there are any for the new year that I have missed off please let me know. Your Committee and Pubs Officers are working flat out over the next couple of months surveying pubs for the Good Beer Guide. We are also just starting out on the long journey that leads to our next Pub Of The Year being selected. We had such a great response from members and now have a shortlist of 4 very popular pubs to try and whittle down to a winner. This really isn’t an easy task. Best wishes for a healthy, peaceful and successful 2015
