My apologies for the lateness of this mailout but it has been a busy month.
Our next Branch event is Friday 25th to Sunday 27th September
North Devon Branch will be supporting the 3rd Beer and Cider Festival at RHS Rosemoor.
There will be entertainment:-
Friday afternoon (2pm – 4pm)  –  Becky, JJ and Edge (acoustic guitar and folk singing
Saturday afternoon (2pm – 4pm) – Martin Dowding & Sarah-Lou (acoustic guitar and jazz singing
Saturday evening (6pm – 8pm) – Hatherleigh Ukulele Bashers
Sunday afternoon (2pm – 4pm) – Jim Prior, Saxophonist
There will be brewers to meet and talk to,
there will be tutored beer tasting.
And of course there are the wonderful gardens!
I really hope I will see you there and bring the family. Entry is half price to CamRA members (or 2 for the price of 1).

I hope that you have responded to the Champion Beer Of Britain voting – I can’t emphasise strongly enough how very important this is to our brewers.  Without your support they stand no chance of receiving the recognition they so deserve.  If you haven’t already voted and have binned the email from Nik Antona go to the main CAMRA website and follow the links.  You still have time to make a difference.

The latest issue of Beer Tiz is now winging its way into your local – if it doesn’t arrive please let me know and I will endeavour to arrange a delivery from the appropriate Pubs Officer.

Attached you will find the latest Information Update which gives details of meetings, beer festivals, socials and events in our branch and close by. You will see that the format of our Branch Meetings is undergoing change; this is to encourage more members to attend.  Some meetings will be full ‘business’ meetings when Branch Officers will report back on what has been going on, some will be ‘discussion’ meetings when the views of members will be sought to inform and contribute to the Campaign as well as to enjoy lively conversation about local and national issues; and some will be social meetings when the intention is to visit one of our lovely pubs and enjoy the great ales on offer.  Something to appeal to all I hope.

Nominations are currently being sought for Cider Pub Of The Year, Club Of The Year and Brewery of the Year.  Email to me please.

Finally I am taking bookings for our
Branch Festive Lunch on
Saturday 28th November, 12 for 12.30 at our
Pub Of The Year – The Red Lion, Exbourne.
A menu can be viewed on The Red Lion’s website.  Please book your place asap as places are limited and it quickly gets fully booked.  I wouldn’t want you to be disappointed!
